Welcome to Sirius Pet Care!  I'm Mickey Borders, owner of Sirius Pet Care... I'm the ugly one on the right, on our home page!

While working in sales with lots of traveling, I found that finding a place for my pets to stay was stressful for them and me. Kennels were not appealing because of the possibility of illness, injury and lack of personal attention, along with the inconvenience of dropping off and picking up my pets. Friends and family sometimes would help but it was a burden for them and I usually had to bring my pets to them. I deciding to use a  professional pet sitter after realizing that most pets are happier, healthier, more relaxed, and well-behaved staying in a familiar environment.

I had a difficult time finding a qualified, reliable, professional pet sitter that I was comfortable with. That’s when I decided to use my ability to bond with animals to provide the service I had been looking for!

I grew up with dogs and cats, along with fish and assorted other pets. I have always had animals in my house and feel that they are part of the family. In addition to spoiling my dog Tera, I enjoy camping, fly fishing, and playing drums.

All Sirius Pet Care pet sitters are mature, responsible pet owners . We are bonded and insured, and have well over 100 years of combined pet care experience. We don’t discriminate against any breed, age, or medical condition. We love, respect, and care for your pets as we do our own.

Meet our Associate Pet Sitters!

Kris I grew up in Colorado and have always had a love and passion for animals. As a child all I ever wanted was to be around and with animals, from dogs and cats to horses, birds, really any animals! I have continued that passion through life. I started in high school working as dog groomer and from there I was hooked. I went to college to study marine biology at UH. I worked at the Denver aquarium, and continued expanding my knowledge and love. Eventually I settled into working at vet hospitals. I had a passion for pets and found a home at Harrison memorial animal hospital. I work there for a few years until I became pregnant with my son. At that time I moved from working with animals to raising my son. After many years at home taking on my biggest challenge of mom, I wanted to go back to doing what I love. I found Sirius and it was the perfect fit. I could still spend time with animals and do what I love, and continue to be a mom. The nice part is the happy wags and love I get back daily from the pets I get to see! In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, skiing (water and snow), and music.

Hi! My name is Melissa and I have been a pet owner (dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, hamsters) my entire life and a pet sitter/caretaker for over 25 years. Much to my family's chagrin, I was the one who rescued lost and injured animals in the neighborhood when I was growing up. I am drawn to all types of animals! Currently, I have two husky mixes that are an integral part of our family. As a pet owner myself, I understand the desire to make sure they are well taken care of when you go out of town or can't be there to take them on a walk and give them the affection they need.  I have a deep compassion and respect for our fur kids, and appreciate how richly they enhance our lives! So if I can be of service to you and your furry family members, it would truly be my privilege.

When I'm not walking or watching over pets for Sirius Pet Care, I enjoy reading, Bible journaling, having a good cup of coffee with friends or working on DIY home improvement projects.

If you look back on all my family pictures of large or small groups I’m always the one with the animal in my arms. I’ve had a love for animals my whole life. We were on vacation in Thailand when the 2004 tsunami hit and I found myself on a plane down to Phuket with animal medicine and food as soon as they lifted the flight ban. I extended my vacation to stay as long as possible to work alongside veterinarians in clinics. It was one of the best experiences of my life.
My fur family thru the years, has included a chihuahua mix to a turkish kangal (130 lbs).  I currently have a sweet hound mix named Wilma and a super friendly cat named Arrow.  Three friends have left me their pets in their wills! I hope they all outlive me!
I've had Sirius care for my personal pets, as well as walking and sitting many of clients pets for years.
I am currently semi-retired and help with any of the awesome Sirius pets whenever I can. In my free time I love to travel and keep my beehives happy!
I've been an animal lover since I can remember. I don't think my life would be complete without my furry friends. Even though my mom's idea of a pet was a fish, I was lucky enough to have an aunt who had horses, cats and dogs. I was on a horse before I could walk and was hooked ever since. I started instruction when I was 5 and competed throughout middle and high school. Currently, I'm working at a horse barn still following my passion working with horses.  I grew up with Neapolitan Mastiffs (big dogs!) and love everything about them - even their slobber! My aunt currently has a Presa Canario named Chopper (adopted from CO), as well as a Neapolitan mastiff named Athena who was rescued from Iowa. They are both big goof balls whom I love dearly. I'm the person at a party that will make friends with the dog rather than converse with people!
I don't have pets of my own at the moment, so getting to visit your kitties or walking your lovely pooches helps fills the void!

When I'm not spending time with puppy dogs, cats, or horses, I enjoy hiking, traveling, reading, doing puzzles, and listening to my record player.
